    JOGGING

    Most people like sport. Sport is not only fun to do but it is also good for us too. Playing sport keeps us healthy and let us exercise our body.

    There are many kinds of sports. One of them is jogging. Many people in Indonesia

    like jogging. It is very important to our body because it keeps our heart healthy. It also keeps us fit.

    If we get up early in the morning in most Indonesian cities we will see an unusual sight. Lots of boy, girls, men and women are ready up and busy. What are they doing? They are exercising. Many will do jogging. Jogging is a gentle running. People jog to relax themselves, to keep themselves fit, or simply to enjoy themselves. Our world today is a world where life is comfortable and easy for many city people.

    To do jogging does not need a lot of money. It is a cheap sport. We only need a pair of running shoes, a sports shirt, shorts, and socks.

    We can jog on the streets, in the big square, in the park, in the stadium, etc. If we want to make our body fit, we have to jog at least three times a week or every other day. So don’t jog only on Sundays.

    What should and shouldn’t we do before and after jogging?

    1. Before we start jogging, do some exercise. It is called warming-up. By doing this, our body and muscle will be able to adapt easily.
    2. Before we start jogging, we should not eat or drink anything. If we eat or drink something, moreover, especially if we consume a large portion, our stomach will ache while we are jogging.
    3. After jogging, don’t take a bath directly. We should wait for about fifteen minutes, or until our body gets dry. If we are still in a sweat and take a bath, we will be sick.

     

     

    As we know, nowadays our government is very enthusiastic to support the sports programme. And our government also provides many facilities. But whether there is a government’s facility or not, let’s do sport if we want to keep our body fit and healthy. If we are healthy, we can study and work very well.

    To stay healthy

    When one’s body is well, when his mind is sound and active and he feels good, he is not afraid of being sick. Good condition of the body, mind and emotion are all parts of good health that make our body alive. Avoiding the body from illness is the foundation of good health.

    Pay attention to the proper care of the body, the food you eat and water you drink. Supply the body with materials needed to do work and the process of growing. Vitamins are very important for our body. They help the body make proper use of the food you eat. Different food contains different substance needed by the body .Foods, like meat, milk, fish, cheese and egg contain protein. These substances are needed to repair and build muscles.

    Exercise is another important part of the daily care of the body. Jogging is a good exercise. Exercise is good for blood vessels, because it helps keep even the smaller blood vessels open and its keep the muscle healthy.

    Almost all people, during each 24 hour period, need a number of hours of total rest. No one has yet found out the progress that takes place in the body during the hours of sleep. No one can hear what is going on in their bodies when they are sleeping. But the scientist agree because they have examined that this the time in which cells of the body recover from the strains of the day and build up supplies of energy for the next period of activity.

    HEALTHY water and its problem

     

    Water is very precious to people. They use it in almost activities they do. Primarily, they use water for domestic purposes such as drinking, food preparation, bathing, cleaning, and watering plants. Secondarily, water is used for industrial processes, commercial products, waste disposal, fire-fighting, swimming pools, etc. Realizing how important water is for drinking and food preparation, clean water which is free from disease-causing bacteria should always be available. Boiling water is the traditional way to get healthy drinking water. Clean and healthy water is also necessary for bathing and cleaning; fish and plants need water which is free from pollution.

                As the population of the world increase, people are now facing a serious problem of water pollution, especially in big cities. The growth of population does not cope with the development of housing facility. Consequently, too many people live in one area, and environmental cleanliness cannot be controlled very well. People’s activities are primarily the cause of this problem. Pollutants are chemical substances that affect the natural condition of water or its intended use. Organic wastes from homes and industries contaminate the water. As the result, waterways like rivers, lakes, and even oceans are subjected to pollution. This polluted water is harmful to living things that consume it. Plants cannot grow well and do not yield good quality fruit. Fish do not grow and breed properly. This, in turn, will affect the health of people who consume them.

                Water pollution is really a problem for all people. They, however, cannot overcome this individually. They need to cooperate as responsible citizens. They should not throw away domestic wastes everywhere. They must not dump harmful substances into the river. Industries must realize the importance of recycling rubbish. And above all, they should not let the chemical waste get into the river or other public waterways.
